Getting Stronger Is Simple

The Simple Series · Part 4 of 12

Getting stronger takes repetition. That means spending enough time with the same movements to get better at them.

Choose exercises that suit you and what you want to achieve. Start with a challenge you can manage. Practise, recover and gradually build.

Keep track of enough to know whether it's working.

An extra rep. A little more weight. More control. Something that used to feel heavy becoming manageable.

You don't need to test your maximum every week. There's plenty of useful work between comfortable and absolutely cooked.

At Virtus, we want strength you can use. Carrying your bags. Getting off the floor. Playing your sport. Having more options as you get older.

The exercises might look familiar for a while. That's fine. Familiar gives you a chance to improve.

Repeat the basics. Give them some effort. Build over time.
