Life and perspective: the writing people forward to their mates

This is the part of the blog with the least to do with a gym. Short essays about paying attention: no ordinary moments, the beauty of the in between, what a week in Japan teaches you, why laughter matters. It stays online because people keep sending it to each other.

Virtus started as a gym and the writing started as a discipline. One post a day, most days, on whatever seemed worth thinking about that morning. Some of it is sharp. Some of it is a man working something out in public, which is arguably the better half.

None of it will improve your squat. It is here because a coaching relationship that only ever discusses training is a thin one, and because these are the pieces members quote back to us years later.

Questions people ask

Life and perspective, answered.

Are these posts still relevant?

The ideas are. The details may not be: many were written years ago and are marked as archive, so programs, people, prices and links may have changed since.

How long are they?

Most are a two or three minute read. A few are a single paragraph, and that was the point of writing daily rather than writing long.

Can I get these by email?

Yes. There is a newsletter signup on the home page, and it is the same writing rather than a sales list.

Like how we think?

The blog is the philosophy. The floor in Mornington is where it turns into something. Come and see the room for yourself.
