And in this moment, I swear, we are infinite. Let's do this! Come on! Mounting! It's too damn hot for a penguin to be just walking around. Three, two, one, eagle! Are these two doctors? I'm afraid so. [MUSIC PLAYING] And here we go. Welcome. Hello. We're back. Me or the people listening? I'm welcoming everyone. Hello, welcome. Hello. Hello, everybody. We're back. The Virtus podcast is back on the airwaves for season two. It's exciting. What about season one? What did we do for season one, 110 episodes? We just did a long, long season. We bypassed the formalities. Is season two going to be 110 episodes?

Because I don't know if I've got the time for that. Well, I'm not going to. I don't have anything but time in a minute. So maybe we could do 110 episodes. What's the plan? Tell us about the plan for season two, Simon. Season two, here's what we're thinking. 10 episodes, short and sharp, a little bit more structured. We're relaunching the podcast as you know it. It's different as you know it. It's like separate. It's better. Same two faces or voices. And yeah, the intention is to make it a little bit more specific to the thing that we're going through right now.

So we're going to talk about how rubbish the world is and how people need to get their shit together and stay home. Is that what we're-- Yeah, we're just going to-- should we just whinge and dive into and complain about how we're locked down and this sucks and it's ridiculous. And all I want to do is go out and have a beer with the boys, but I can't. All I want to do is go to work and watch people do some squats, but I can't. Are we going to just talk about the things we can't do or what?

We're going to think about the things that we can control, I think, Lachlan. It all seems bad, but it's not. Can we talk about how good a job Dan Andrews is doing? Look, I do not envy him. Tough job. He's much better placed than I or you or many others to do what he's doing, but we're not getting into the politics. Can we talk about how I don't think career politicians should be a job? I've got an idea. Let's make that season three. I've got ideas of how we can fix the whole system. So if you want to hear them, hit me up.

Let's do it over a Zoom beer maybe later. Yeah, so the theme of this season-- Is you trying to get back on track? I'm just throwing you off the track. It's me just reigning in Lachlan for the most part, but the theme is to-- I guess we want to educate and empower everyone to thrive during these times. We're pretty constrained around what we can and can't do. There's a lot of things that are outside of our control, so we want to focus on the things that are within our sphere of control. And I guess if

we can do that, if we can keep ourselves, you and me, and our listeners, our listenership accountable to doing that, hopefully we can teach them some really simple, powerful strategies around doing good things when times are tough. That's it. There's certain things that we at Virtus practice and I guess try to teach our members, and we want to teach other people that are outside of our immediate community. These things like focusing on our big rocks and practicing gratitude and mindfulness, thinking about change and how we can frame it differently. These things and concepts that we can bring into our daily lives in order to bring a little bit of positivity, bring a little bit of hope.

I know you think hope ain't a tactic, but-- Hope is a tactic. It can be a tactic. Yeah, and bring these things into our lives in order to help us move forward and move the needle on the things that are meaningful and important to us. I like that. That's good. And we're also going to give you guys a weekly update on the current COVID cases. There's that for a bit of alliteration for you. So I think it's really important that we all know the exact number of COVID cases each day. Thoughts? Disagree. We will not be touching on the COVID cases.

Sorry, it's from my other podcast. Oh, right. Link in bio. Current COVID cases with Wallace. No, we'll be staying away from that. We'll just use the clip of the weatherman from Family Guy, where he's just like, it's raining sideways. We'll just say that, but it's going up or it's going down. We can work that into the intro music maybe. That would actually be funny. Yes. Yeah, good. So 10 episodes. Stay tuned. We'll be releasing one a week. If you guys have any feedback for us, if you want to hear anything in particular, if you want to-- Positive validating feedback only.

If you have constructive criticism, take it somewhere else. Wrong. [LAUGHS] We won't. Something we haven't said, we haven't said. Some people are going to be, if they've stuck around this long, some people are going to be watching this. Some people are going to be listening to it. So because we have such beautiful faces, I did my hair for COVID lockdown. I did my hair for COVID, and we got locked down again. So I can't show people. So what we're going to be doing for these 10 episodes is we're going to do a video like this. I might share some content.

Might get Lucy to pull some shit up like Jamie does for Rogan. And yeah. So if you are listening at home, hello. Say hi to your mom for me. And know that this is also on a video stream as well. So we'll chuck it up probably YouTube after we do the one. And there's going to be a little bit more post-production going into season two than there was in season one, the first 110 or so episodes. Just so you know, the amount of post-production that went into season one was very minimal. It was, how could I do this as easily as possible?

But we're going to put a little bit of time and effort into it this time, because we want to do it properly. And we've got nothing else to do, mostly. So we're elevating our game. We're bringing things up. We're going to another level. Another level. We're leveling up. We're getting the mushroom and leveling up like Mario does. I like it. A bit of a video game analogy for you. Yeah, good. Should we stop talking? Let's. Enjoy. [MUSIC PLAYING] There is one more thing. It's been emotional. [MUSIC PLAYING]

The podcast is the philosophy. The floor is where it happens.
