Hey guys, welcome to the Virtus Performance Podcast Be Better series. This is episode number six and I'm going to talk to you about mindfulness. So for me mindfulness is being aware of the present, being aware that yes there is a past, yes there is a future, but actually being mindful of where you are right now and what you're actually doing. Whether that's getting your work done during the day or whether that's spending time with your loved ones at night or early in the morning. It's allowing yourself time to actually enjoy being present. Mindfulness for me is also being aware of who you are and what you are and I guess what's important to you.
It's really easy for us to kind of lose track of why we're doing certain things or what we're actually working towards or why we're spending 60 hours a week at work and not actually reaping the rewards that we may deserve or that we may feel we're entitled to because we put in that work. So yeah mindfulness really really simply is just being aware of your surroundings and who you are and what you are and making sure that you're yeah working towards the right things and you're actually spending your time as you actually want to spend
it and you're not you know doing things because someone else wants you to do it or because you feel as though someone else will give you the validation that you crave or yeah you're actually just spending time learning about who you are what you are and what you actually want. And that's pretty much it short and sharp but yeah really really simple point be better.
