You Do You.
I'm an all or nothing
kind of person.
I'll struggle to read more than a handful of books, or I'll commit to reading 52 books a year.
I'll train every day for months, or I'll struggle to get a few sessions out each week.
I go all in
, dial in on one thing, usually go over the top and eventually fall in a heap for a few days, realise I need to fill my cup then I pick myself up go hard, and then do it all over again.
This is my pattern
. I'm beginning to understand that. This is ok, this is me
, I'm not going to try and change it, simple as that. What I am doing is trying to be aware of it
, and ensure that I can couple this intensity with at least a little bit of ' fill my cup time
'
Comments I hear all of the time 'You work too much' 'You need to slow down' 'Mate, have a day off once in a while' I appreciate the love
and care shown in these comments, but it doesn't serve me
.
I believe that we all have a different wavelength
. What I mean by that is that most of us tend to fit into one of three categories for each part of our lives. High Capacity / Medium Capacity / Low Capacity. For example, I have a High Capacity
to spend time working on Virtus.
Working 6.5-7 days a week is normal. That's me, I'm ok with that.
If you don't agree, thats ok, you do you.
If you understand your capacity
. Your wavelength
. Your patterns
. Your wants
and needs
, then you're well equipped to make the small important adjustments to move you in the right direction, look after yourself and understand when you can go hard
, and when you need to pull back
.
What matters, is awareness
. Awareness
of your patterns
, your capacity
and your desire to get from where you are now to where you want to be.
If you're aware
, then you're way ahead of the curve, you can gain a better understanding of where you're at, and make the best decisions in terms of looking after yourself, and simultaneously improving who and what you are.
Just a thought process, a brain dump.
Let me know what you think.
If you disagree. Let's discuss it.
Be Amazing.
